Chef Shu Washington is a native of Pine Bluff, AR and has been a resident of Douglasville, GA for a little more than 8 years. He is the owner and Head Chef  at Sankofa Catering and Special Events in Douglasville, Ga. He’s been married to his wife Akua Washington for 17 years. They are the proud parents of 3 wonderful daughters, Anaya - 18, Amira - 13, and Aneesa - 10. Shujuan graduated from Emporia State University in 2002 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and is a member of The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. After a successful career with Enterprise Rent-A-Car where he managed a car sales branch in Morrow, GA, Shujuan decided to leave corporate America and pursue his first love, catering. In September 2017 he launched Sankofa Special Events & Catering and since its inception the business has continued to grow exponentially. Sankofa specializes in healthy meal preparation for a host of weekly clients and special event catering for both corporate and social functions.To date, Sankofa has been blessed to be the one of the premier catering services used by several colleges, universities and high schools in the Metro Atlanta area.  Some of Chef Shu's clients also include members of the television and film industry as well as high profile politicians in Georgia.
